Launched in 1924 by visionary founder Most Honorable Brother Abram Langston Taylor, the program emerged as a bold response to the limited economic opportunities available to African Americans of the time. Brother Taylor’s mission was revolutionary: to provide the knowledge, resources, and inspiration needed to create and sustain Black-owned businesses. His belief was simple yet powerful—strong businesses build strong communities, and through economic independence comes true empowerment.
Today, Bigger and Better Business has evolved into a national movement that energizes entrepreneurs, students, and professionals alike. From business expos and financial literacy workshops to mentorship programs and partnerships with financial institutions, BBB continues to break barriers and open doors. Sigma chapters nationwide host events that teach credit management, investing, and entrepreneurship—all designed to close the wealth gap and help individuals take control of their financial futures.
