Walk to End Alzheimer’s

🎉 A Day of Purpose and Unity
On the crisp morning of November 8, the grounds at Richmond City Stadium were buzzing with determined energy, as members of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Iota Sigma Chapter joined hundreds of walkers for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s – RVA. Purple and teal flags fluttered in the autumn breeze, while team T-shirts proudly proclaimed: “Steps for Hope. Walk for a Future Without Alzheimer’s.” The ceremony kicked off with heartfelt testimonies and a Moment of Silence in honor of loved ones lost or living with the disease—setting the tone for what became a march of remembrance, solidarity and action.
🥾 Walking With Purpose
As the walk began, the Iota Sigma Chapter proudly took its place within the sea of participants. Laughter and conversation rose up as teams moved along the route, side by side, sharing stories of caregivers, friends, parents, and grandparents. The chapter’s purple-and-white presence stood out—members linking arms, pausing for photos, offering high-fives and encouragement to fellow walkers. With every step, the collective resolve felt stronger: not just walking for awareness, but for lasting change.
🌟 Community, Commitment & Hope
By the time the finish line came into view, there was a real sense of achievement in the air. The chapter’s fundraising banner flew high, underscoring their commitment to supporting the Alzheimer’s Association’s mission of care, research and advocacy. Around them, families embraced, teams congratulated each other, and new friendships were formed — all bound by the common goal of ending Alzheimer’s disease. The morning left everyone with more than just a step count: it left the promise of purpose renewed, and the shared belief that when a community walks together, hope walks too.
